Welcome to NewComm, where we transform classroom education into real world legacy.

NewComm is the curated learning community that high school changemakers have been waiting for. We combine the connections, opportunities, and intellectual rigor of exclusive networks with hands-on community investment—because the leaders our communities need deserve access to the same networks and opportunities as everyone else.

How it works

NewComm begins with an invitation—students join through peer or educator nominations for multi-year participation in our curated community. Fellows lead the way, spearheading annual $10,000 community projects that apply rigorous research, writing, and analytical skills to create real-world impact. We gather monthly in community studios at premium educational facilities to collaborate on these projects and build authentic relationships through shared meals, celebrations, and social gatherings. Weekly tutoring and mentorship ensure every member excels in both coursework and community work. Through it all, we maintain high expectations with deep care—celebrating rigorous standards while honoring the full humanity of our members, from academic achievements to life's victories.

Basically, our mission is to ensure that you leave high school with a legacy of impact, a network that amplifies your voice, and the satisfaction of knowing you've held the door for the person behind you.

In two years, our students have deployed $55,000 to fund bold impact initiatives, reaching over 500 people across NYC and Yonkers through projects that transform literature into action—what we call 'literary science.' Inspired by Sandra Cisneros' A House on Mango Street, our students created The Net Gala, an annual networking event connecting healthcare-interested students to professionals that has reached 300 attendees in two years. Drawing from James Baldwin's Go Tell It on the Mountain, they launched ProspHER, a women's empowerment festival focusing on financial literacy, college prep, and wellness for over 100 community members. Our alumni continue this excellence at Cornell, NYU, Emory, and Mercy University—many with merit-based scholarships, some with full rides. NewComm has been featured on BronxNet, TEDx, Philly Inquirer and is proudly supported by Morgan Stanley, the Heckscher Foundation for Children, the Simons Foundation, and other prominent organizations.
