Roundtables: Where Learning Meets Purpose
At NewComm, Roundtables are where students make meaning of their school learning, connecting it to personal passions and the leadership of $10,000 community projects.
Focus Areas:
Math – Apply quantitative reasoning to real-world challenges and project needs.
English – Strengthen communication, critical reading, and writing skills.
Student Choice – Flip the classroom as students lead discussions or teach adults.
Wellness – Strategize care and build resilience through open dialogue.
Format:
Fellows Roundtables: Fellows-only sessions linking academic work directly to project deliverables.
Community Roundtables: Open to all Members, led by paid peer leaders, and designed to inspire reflection, collaboration, and connection.
Tutoring: Personalized Support for Every Learner
Our tutoring program connects students with seasoned professional educators who provide targeted academic support in core subject areas. Whether it’s building mastery in a challenging topic or preparing for an upcoming exam, tutoring sessions are tailored to each student’s needs.

SAT Prep: Academic Excellence Meets Leadership Development
Our SAT Prep Program equips students for success on the SAT while developing the leadership and teaching skills that define NewComm graduates.
Community Webinars
Twice a year—in Fall and Spring—Compass Prep delivers expert webinars open to the entire NewComm community, covering best practices and proven SAT strategies.
SAT Leadership Lab
Open to all students after three months of good standing, the SAT Leadership Lab offers small-group learning pods matched by strengths and learning styles, with 20 hours of Compass Prep instruction and guided peer collaboration.
Mentorship Pathway
Graduates of the SAT Leadership Lab become SAT Mentors—leading SAT-focused Roundtables, supplying resources, and guiding the next cohort’s learning pods.
