How It Works
Join as a General Member
No application. No nomination. Just sign up. NewComm is open to any high schooler who wants in. From day one, you have a role: you're a test user. When student-led companies build prototypes for their $10K projects, you're the one testing them and giving feedback that shapes what comes next.

Show Up to Monthly Events
Three ways to plug in every month. General Members get access to the events where NewComm's community actually comes alive. No commitments beyond showing up — just come, connect, and see what this is about.
- Design Studios — Test real prototypes from student-led companies and give feedback that shapes $10K projects
- Supper Clubs — Dinners where students and professionals sit at the same table. No panels — just real conversation
- Community Roundtables — Virtual happy hours with speed intros, team trivia, peer tutoring, and Uber Eats prizes
Get Drafted onto a Company
Apply. Get chosen. Get paid. When you're ready to go deeper, apply to become an Engaged Member. Fellows draft you onto their company — a real team with a real client, a real budget, and a real deliverable.
- Four roles — Budget, Program Development, External Partners, or Marketing & Advertising
- Paid per session — You're not volunteering. You're working
- Weekly company meetings plus expert support and everything General Members get
Lead Your Own $10K Project
Fellows run the show. You and a co-Fellow lead a company, manage a $10K budget, and deliver a funded solution for a real client. You draft your own team, pitch monthly to an Expert Panel, and present your work at Design Studio.
- Summer Intensive — Five weeks of deep learning before the year begins to forge your hypothesis
- Expert Panel — Monthly sessions where experts stress-test your thinking
- Paid stipend tied to deliverables — the work is real and the compensation reflects that
Leave a Legacy
Your impact outlasts your time here. After your fellowship, you join the Legacy Circle — mentoring the next generation, consulting on projects, and staying connected to a network that opens doors in college and career.
